Sekou McMiller is a leading figure in Afro-Latin dance, recognized for his unique fusion of Afro-Caribbean influences and diverse dance styles.
Sekou’s work as a choreographer, performer and instructor has been featured internationally, with credits including Celia: The Musical, In the Heights (2021), and the documentary Uprooted: The Journey of Jazz Dance.
Sekou has collaborated with artists such as Madonna, Pitbull, and Gilberto Santa Rosa, and choreographed for institutions like the Alvin Ailey School, Joffrey Ballet School and the United Nations. His choreography has also been presented at major venues worldwide, including New York City Center, Symphony Space, and Olympic Park Stadium in South Korea.
Sekou McMiller has also performed and taught in over 30 countries, sharing his expertise across continents. He is the artistic director of Sekou McMiller Dance Company and serves on the faculty of The Ailey School, Joffrey Ballet School, Peridance Capezio Center and Broadway Dance Center.
