Luis Aguilar and the Couture Dance Alliance are putting on a Salsa and Bachata Party this Saturday at Susan’s Dance Studio. Classes start at 8pm, with dancing until 1am. There will also be a dance performance by the CDA.

There’s going to be a big salsa party this Friday at Illusions Super Club in Palo Alto. There will be salsa lessons, a live band (Mazacote!), and dance performances by Salsa Mania and Montuno Dance Company. Not sure if this will be a recurring event, but this Friday should be huge!

PB&G Productions’ annual “So You Think You Can Dance” Jack & Jill competition starts this week at Hot Salsa Friday! The competition is open to everyone, and competitors will freestyle to salsa, cha cha, merengue, and bachata. This is the first of four qualifying rounds, with finals to be held on April 30th.

Ricardo Sanchez, the organizer of the upcoming US Salsa Open Championships, has announced the authorized music for the US Open Competition. These are the songs that competitors will be allowed to use during the competition. The full list of songs is on the US Salsa Open site.
