The San Francisco Salsa Congress is one of the largest dance events in the Bay Area. Every year over 3,000 dancers from the Bay Area and from around the world gather together for a weekend long celebration of music and dance. The SF Salsa Congress features 3 days of non-stop dancing, with dance workshops everyday from 10am-4pm, amazing shows in the evening, and dancing every night until 4am in the morning. It's an experience unlike any other event in the Bay Area.

Learn To Dance Like The Pros

Want to take your dancing skills to the next level? The SF Congress features over 40 of the best dance instructors from around the world, and they will be teaching workshops every day of the congress from 10am-4pm. That's nearly 20 hours of total dance instruction from the best in the world. It would cost thousands of dollars to travel around the world to learn from these instructors, and you get to experience them all in one weekend right here in the Bay Area. Do you have two left feet? No problem! The SF Salsa Congress features a special beginner track, with lessons every hour specifically tailored for beginners. Even if you've never danced salsa and bachata before, you will have the opportunity to learn from some of the best instructors in the world, and sky-rocket your dance skills!

Every year the SF Salsa Congress attracts over 3,000 dancers, not just from the Bay Area, but from all over the US and the world. At the SF Salsa Congress you will have the opportunity to meet and dance with people from Canada, Mexico, South America, Japan, and beyond. Take workshops, dance, and party all weekend long with great people who share your passion for dance!

If you are new to the salsa scene and don't know everyone, don't worry! We will be hosting a special Newbies Meet & Greet on Friday night so that you can meet other people who are also beginners and also receive advice from veteran dancers on how to make the most of your Congress experience.

Dance The Night Away

The SF Salsa Congress is without a doubt the biggest salsa dance party of the year. Dancing goes until 4am every morning on the 40,000 square foot dance floor of the Oakland Marriott Convention Center. For three nights you have the opportunity to dance the night away with all the great dancers you've met over the weekend and practice all the new moves you've learned during the workshops.

There's also a great live music lineup for the event, with the legendary Fruko y sus Tesos playing two sets of music on Saturday night. Sunday night is a battle of the DJs, with the top salsa DJs in the Bay Area battling it out with their best vinyls.

If you need a break from all that spicy salsa dancing, there is also a separate Bachata & Kizomba room where you can go to slow the pace down and get your sexy on. The bachata and kizomba room also goes until 4am every morning, and is run by Rodney "Rodchata" Aquino, the famous organizer of the San Francisco Bachata Festival.
