Mr. Mambo’s Salsa Bachata Social is a bi-monthly Latin dance social held on the second and last Saturday of every month at the Hollywood Ballroom in Silver Spring, MD. It kicks off with a beginner-friendly bachata class at 8:00 PM, followed by two simultaneous salsa classes (On 1 and On 2) at 9:00 PM, all led by experienced instructors. At 10:00 PM the doors open to social dancing on two floors, each powered by a different DJ spinning salsa, bachata, and other Latin rhythms.
Expect an electric atmosphere complete with guest performances, special theme nights, and celebratory dances for birthdays and milestones. Admission covers all classes plus the party—standard entry is $25, or $20 for dancers arriving after 10:00 PM—with additional savings available through advance RSVP or prepayment. A full cash bar and a friendly, multi-level crowd ensure there’s something for everyone, whether you’re refining your footwork or soaking up the party vibe.
The Hollywood Ballroom enforces a 16 + age minimum and a simple bag-check policy for your peace of mind. Whether you’re new to Latin dance or a seasoned mover, Mr. Mambo’s offers a welcoming, high-energy night out that has become one of the DC area’s favorite bi-monthly dance socials.
