Tropical Thursdays brings Chicago’s favorite Thursday Latin night back to Moe’s Cantina River North with two lessons, two DJs, and two rooms of dancing. Doors open at 8:30 PM, setting the tone for a full night of music, community, and high-energy social dancing.

The evening starts with a 9:00 PM bachata lesson by Fabia Lorena, followed by a 9:30 PM salsa lesson by Edson De Cuba. From 10:00 PM to 2:00 AM, the Main Room keeps the party going with DJ Dwight Burr and DJ A-Beatz, mixing 60% Bachata Sensual, Moderna, and Urban with 40% Salsa and Cumbia. For dancers who want more classic salsa flavors, the 2nd Floor CAVA Room runs 10:00 PM to 1:00 AM with DJ Jesus Castro playing Salsa, Mambo, and Cha Cha Cha.

A $10 cover keeps it easy to drop in for lessons, stay for the social, or do both. Late-night specials add to the fun, including a taco cart after 10:00 PM with $4 tacos and elotes, plus drink options like $8 Vegas Bombs and Lemon Drops, $8 mocktails, $12 cocktails, and the $30 Bachata-rita for the table. Several parking garages are nearby, including iParkit options at 401 N Wells and 111 W Kinzie.
