Every Tuesday
About this event
Every Tuesday evening during the summer months, Battiferro in Bologna becomes the lively home of Serata Afrocaribe—a vibrant celebration of Afro-Latin dance and culture. Set along the historic canals of the Navile district, this open-air venue blends dancing, dining, and community in one unique space.
The night begins at 8:00 PM with food service, where guests can enjoy local dishes before hitting the dance floor. At 8:45 PM, a free beginner Kizomba lesson kicks off the night, taught by Sandra, Marc, and Sara Iacobacci—perfect for newcomers or those wanting to brush up their basics. From 9:45 PM onward, the venue transforms into a full-fledged Afro-Caribbean party featuring a curated musical journey by DJ Maestro Marc Afrocaribe.
Expect a mix of salsa, bachata, kizomba, zouk, kompa, afrohouse, and kuduro, with group animations and a rotating crowd of locals and visitors alike. The entrance fee is €7 and includes the dance lesson, social dancing, and live DJ sets. Performances and themed evenings are regularly featured as well.
Held weekly at Battiferro, Via della Beverara 123/a – via del Navile 29/5a, the event is organized by Associazione Vitruvio and runs as part of their broader summer cultural program. Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or a curious newcomer, Serata Afrocaribe offers an authentic and inclusive way to enjoy the rhythms of the Caribbean in the heart of Bologna.
