Isla de Salsa 2025 – Fukuoka Latin Beach Festival
Salsa Festival
About this event
Isla de Salsa 2025 is one of Japan’s largest Latin music and dance festivals, held annually in Fukuoka. Set on a scenic island venue (Nokonoshima Island Park, in Fukuoka’s harbor) usually in late August, this festival brings together live salsa bands, Latin music DJs, dance instructors, and food stalls for a weekend of tropical fun.
Expect daytime and evening programming: live concerts by salsa and Latin jazz bands (in past years they’ve featured famous groups and in 2024 even the renowned Japanese salsa band Orquesta De La Luz was the headliner, dance shows by invited professionals, and workshops for attendees to learn salsa, bachata, or rueda.
When night falls, social dancing under the stars carries the party into the night.
Dates: (Tentative) August 30–31, 2025 (Sat & Sun).
Time: roughly 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM each day (with after-parties possibly in the city).
Cost: A 1-day pass is usually around ¥4,000 (adv) or ¥5,000 (door), and a full weekend pass is available.
Organized by NPO Tiempo Iberoamericano, Isla de Salsa has a welcoming, festival atmosphere – even if you don’t dance, you can enjoy the live music and beach vibes. It’s a must-go event for Latin music fans, with thousands attending from all over Japan and abroad. (Keep an eye on the official website for the 2025 lineup and ticket details.)
