La Bodeguita del Medio in Playa del Carmen is a lively Cuban restaurant and bar located right on Fifth Avenue, the city’s main pedestrian strip. Every Tuesday night, the venue hosts free Cuban-style salsa lessons taught by Ale Castañón, with donations encouraged to support the program.
Schedule: Lesson from 8:00 PM–9:00 PM, followed by live salsa music and social dancing until 1:00 AM.
The venue is known for its full bar (including classic Cuban-style cocktails) and a food menu that makes it easy to turn the night into dinner and dancing. It’s open to all ages, and the atmosphere is welcoming for beginners as well as experienced dancers.
Beyond Tuesdays, La Bodeguita del Medio frequently features live salsa music on other nights of the week as well, making it a reliable spot for Latin music in central Playa del Carmen.
