The New Mexico Jazz Workshop presents its annual Summer Under the Stars series, a celebration of Latin rhythms and live music held outdoors at the scenic Albuquerque Museum Amphitheater. This vibrant lineup features top-notch bands and artists every Friday evening, bringing together dancers, families, and music lovers from across the region.

The 2025 series includes:

  • June 13 – Micky Cruz and his signature Cumbegue style (cumbia, salsa, reggae fusion)
  • June 20 – Nosotros, a 10-piece Latin ensemble blending salsa, jazz, cumbia, and rock
  • June 27 – Frontera Bugalú, honoring borderland boogaloo and cumbia with a modern twist
  • July 11 – Ivan Ulibarri & Café Mocha, delivering smooth Latin jazz vibes
  • July 18 – Calle 66, a high-energy group mixing salsa, merengue, cumbia, and bachata
  • July 25 – Team Havana, performing salsa, bachata, timba, merengue, and kizomba
  • August 8 – Son Como Son, Albuquerque’s Cuban-style salsa powerhouse
  • August 15 – Spanish Harlem Orchestra, the three-time Grammy®‑winning salsa dura legends
  • September 5 – Jimmy Bosch, celebrated salsa trombonist and bandleader

Each concert runs from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with tickets ranging from $17 to $20 (Spanish Harlem Orchestra: $35–$40). Proceeds support the NM Jazz Workshop’s music education programs. These all-ages, outdoor shows offer a festive, community-driven setting under the stars—perfect for dancing and enjoying summer in Albuquerque.

Hi, do we only watch people perform for these events or can we dance too? Do you also provide lessons before the event starts?

There will be live music and everyone is welcome to dance! There won’t be any lessons at the event, so best to brush up on the basics beforehand!
