Thursday evenings at Motion Arts Center in downtown San Mateo offer an energetic two-hour Bachata journey tailored for dancers progressing beyond the basics. The evening kicks off with a 7:00 PM pre-intermediate class, designed to help students transition from beginner-level combinations to more fluid movement and musicality. At 8:00 PM, the intermediate class dives deeper into intricate partnerwork, turns, and styling techniques—perfect for dancers ready to elevate their skills and expression.
Led by instructors Chris & Jewell, these classes take place in a modern studio known for its welcoming community, professional instruction, and relaxed social vibe. Students can dance in a mirrored space with ambient lighting and quality sound that makes every class feel like a mini party. No partner is needed, and dancers rotate partners throughout the lesson to boost learning and connection.
Pricing starts at $30 for drop-ins, with discounted class packs and monthly passes available. All students must register in advance via the Motion Arts Center website.
