Taste Fridays is an event held every Friday at Cafe Cocomo in San Francisco, combining gourmet food tasting, salsa & bachata lessons, live music, performances, and dancing until 2 in the morning. Taste aims to be more than just a dance event, but a party for all your senses.

Our Review:
Corey Raynor, the organizer of the event teaches both a beginner salsa and bachata lesson at the beginning of the night, which gives beginners a chance to learn two popular Latin dance styles at one event. There are also two separate dance floors set up for salsa and bachata, so you can choose which style you feel like dancing to.
Another great thing about Taste is that they often feature live salsa music as well as dance performances from different dance groups. The dancers at Taste are a good mix of beginners and experienced regulars.
Overall, I give Taste Fridays 4/5 stars for their great atmosphere, fun salsa & bachata lessons, and live dance music.

This is one of my favorite places to go dancing on a Friday night! Cafe Cocomo is one of best salsa dancing venues in SF, and Friday nights is one of the best nights to go because they have a salsa AND bachata room! The venue is pretty spacious, so you don’t have to worry about getting stepped on, and there is an upstairs lounge area where you can sit and relax.
The only bad thing about this place is that the only parking is street parking, and it can be hard to find parking if you come late, and the area is a bit sketchy. But other than that, I love coming to Taste Fridays at Cocomo!

Great place to dance. Between the two floors is hard staying in one because they are both hot, a lot of people to dance and most people were ready to dance. It was my first time there and will go back for sure.

Taste Fridays is one of the best salsa events happening in the city right now. I look forward to my fridays because of Taste event at Cocomos.
Cocomos has been an institution for salsa dancing in the last several years. There are many salsa/latin events happening pretty much every day of the week at Cocomo or in the bay but Taste Fridays is the best of them all. Very friendly crowd that makes you feel comfortable on the dance floor even if you are a beginner. Obviously there are pros that go there as well.
I have to honestly disagree with one of the earlier reviewers that Taste fridays is not the place to improve your salsa dancing. Maybe he/she is selective in their approach to picking leaders/followers, I dont know. But I absolutely love dancing here on Fridays and for the last 8 weeks I’ve been paying every single time with my credit card. And i have consistently seen an average of around 250 people in there.
If you want to meet some of the friendliest salsa crowd in the city/bay i would highly recommend checking out Taste fridays. Once you go there you’ll know why and you will not be disappointed. Good luck to you all and have fun salsa dancing, because it is all about FUN :)
