Salsa and Bachata Classes by Salsa in the Heart

Salsa in the Heart offers welcoming and energetic salsa and bachata lessons for dancers of all levels, from complete beginners to advanced movers. Each week, participants can join structured group classes designed to build confidence, rhythm, and connection on the dance floor.

Classes take place every Thursday from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at 427 Bloor Street West (near Bloor & Spadina, just steps from Spadina Station). No registration or partner is required — students can simply drop in and dance.

The Beginner Salsa class introduces essential steps such as the six basic counts, left and right turns, cross-body leads, and body movement fundamentals. The Beginner Bachata class focuses on the sensual basics, timing, and partner connection unique to the style. The Intermediate Salsa level expands on core techniques with combinations like travelling turns, “in-and-out” transitions, lasso, and double spins. For those seeking a challenge, the Advanced Salsa class refines musicality, styling, and precision through triple spins, titanic moves, checks, waiter turns, and C-turns.

All classes include expert instruction followed by open practice time in a supportive, social atmosphere. Prices are $7 for Beginner Salsa, $7 for Beginner Bachata, $10 for Intermediate Salsa, and $12 for Advanced Salsa — cash only.
