New Year’s Eve Salsa at CAC invites dancers to ring in 2026 with a festive night of music and movement at the Preston Jackson Gallery inside the Contemporary Art Center of Peoria. The celebration runs from 8:30 pm to 1:00 am, with a beginner-friendly dance lesson to start the evening, followed by open dancing through midnight and into the early hours.
DJ Ed Caballero provides the soundtrack for the night, playing mostly salsa along with cha cha, bachata, merengue, tango, reggaeton, cumbia, R&B, and Latin-styled pop and R&B. No partner is required, making it easy for both newcomers and experienced dancers to join in.
Admission is at the door only, with tickets priced at $12 for non-members and $8 for CAC members.
Guests can bring their own food and drinks or order takeout from the nearby Rhythm Kitchen, and pop, water, and ice are available on site for a small fee.
Attire ranges from casual jeans and t-shirts to dressy outfits, and the organizers recommend light, cool clothing plus comfortable shoes with smooth bottoms, especially for those who will be spinning on the dance floor.
