In Rhythm Fest: A New Mexico Community Event is a three-night, two-day celebration of culture, community, and connection, presented by Sabor Cubano & Melaza Music Productions. Running August 28–30, 2026, the weekend features two full days of dance workshops plus three nights of social dancing across the NHCC campus, Fusion, and the Albuquerque Museum.

During the daytime portion, dancers can choose from 30 classes spanning Casino Salsa (Cuban Salsa), Rueda de Casino, Rumba, Salsa on 1 & 2, Bachata, Bachatango, Kizomba, Cha Cha Cha, Cumbia, Latin Hip Hop, and more, with options that range from body movement and musicality to Guaguancó. The festival then turns those lessons into a community celebration on the dance floor with three nights of social dancing.

Friday night kicks off with Grammy Award-winning Spanish Harlem Orchestra at the Albuquerque Museum. Saturday continues at Fusion with DJ Walt Digz from San Francisco. Sunday closes back at the National Hispanic Cultural Center with Albuquerque’s local DJs alongside DJ Walt Digz.

Regular pricing lists a $149 full festival pass (with a $2 discount for students, seniors, kids, and NHCC members), $104 Saturday or Sunday day passes (with the same $2 discount), $24 single classes, and $19 festival social dances.
