Oak City Music Collective and Dix Park team up for Oak City Salsa Social, a free community salsa series celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.

Each night begins with a free, beginner-friendly salsa lesson led by local instructors, followed by social dancing with live Latin music and a live salsa orchestra under the open sky. The series is welcoming for all ages and all experience levels, whether someone is stepping onto the dance floor for the first time or coming out to dance for hours.

The 2026 dates in the series are September 16, September 30, and October 14, running from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Dix Park’s Gipson Play Plaza. Guests are encouraged to bring friends and family, plus a lawn chair or blanket for a comfortable evening in the park.

Space is limited and registration is required, with registration opening two weeks in advance at 12:00 pm.
