Salsa, Your Way: Playful Dance Workshop

Salsa, Your Way: Playful Dance Workshop invites dancers to make room for their creative side through MEZCLAO, a playful approach rooted in simple salsa rhythms and steps.

The session begins by gathering in a circle to meet one another and set an intention, then moves into an “Awaken” free-flow movement ritual to drop into the body and wake up the senses. From there, participants follow cues into easy, energizing movements inspired by salsa’s rhythm and steps, with the focus on curiosity over perfection. The workshop then shifts into “Connect,” taking the groove into partner exploration with a simple framework: lead, listen, respond.

Mateo brings a background in salsa, contemporary dance, and contact improvisation. It runs on Saturday, October 24, 2026 from 4:30–6:00 PM (Toronto time) at Dovercourt House, with everyone asked to head to the second floor. Pricing is pay-what-you-can with a suggested CA$23 and a minimum CA$10 per person, presented by Lila and hosted by GG Movement.
