About this event

The Salsa Society runs a vibrant weekly program of Latin dance lessons at its Surfboat Brewery studio on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

Across several evenings and weekend sessions, students can progress through structured pathways such as ELEVATE for intermediate salsa and FLOW for sensual bachata, while absolute beginners start with the friendly Salsa for Fun curriculum.

The timetable also features solo mambo shines, crossover West Coast Swing drills, and private-coaching slots for dancers seeking personalised feedback or wedding-dance choreography.

Every week kicks off with a free taster class that lets newcomers sample the atmosphere, meet the instructors and learn a handful of fundamentals before deciding which course suits them best.

Lesson blocks balance technique with musicality drills, partner connection exercises and plenty of guided practice to cement new material in muscle memory.

Certified instructors keep class sizes intentionally small so everyone receives individual attention and encouragement, and no partner is ever required.

Between classes, dancers relax in Surfboat Brewery’s cosy lounge area, enjoying craft beverages and chatting with the Northern Beaches’ welcoming Latin-dance community.

Whether the goal is to master on-1 salsa, level-up sensual bachata styling or simply share an energetic night out, The Salsa Society offers a supportive, fun environment for all levels.
