GUATEQUE: Cuban Party in Sydney

Guateque is a Cuban party in Sydney bringing together music, dance, and community in a lively Havana-inspired atmosphere at Bar Noun in Zetland.

Inspired by the Cuban Creole word for a traditional celebration, the event showcases a broad mix of Cuban music, including Son, Salsa, Timba, Rumba, and Cubatón. DJ duo Donbear & Kuz provide the soundtrack, creating a night designed for both dedicated dancers and anyone who simply enjoys Cuban and Latin music.

The programme may also feature live dance performances, guest entertainers, and an all-level Cuban dance class, giving newcomers an easy way to join in. Previous featured artists have included Cuban dance duo Edgar & Stefanie and Elis Nichele of Caribbean Dance Studios.

Guests can expect a sociable atmosphere centered around dancing, Cuban culture, and Sydney’s Latin community. Drink specials may include favourites such as Cuba Libres, Mojitos, and Margaritas.
