El Valenciano (aka El V) is one of the top spots to go salsa dancing on a week night in SF. Located in the heart of the Mission (just a few minutes walk from the BART station), the event is held every Wednesday night at El Valenciano Restaurant & Bar.

The instructor of at the event, Gabriel Romero, is one of the most experience salsa teachers in the Bay Area, and he teaches new salsa shines and turn patterns On2 before the social.

The dance floor is compact, but quite danceable. There is also a full bar in the venue as well, so you can grab a drink between dances. The event also occasionally hosts performances and live music. It's a fun social that attracts the On2 crowd, so if New York-style salsa is your jam, I definitely recommend checking it out.
