Montero's is a bar first and foremost. The dance floor is tiny, and gets even smaller when they manage to squeeze in a live band. The live band by the way is a crazy thing to do in such a small venue because it basically feels like the trumpets are blasting directly into your ears.
Still Montero's can be a fun place to check out and the younger crowd is definitely a bonus for me. At $15 though this club is overpriced, even if you do manage to get onto the guest list.

Live band, busy bar and separate restaurant area. Very packed on fridays. Join the mailing list for cover discounts. Younger crowd. Heavy drinking club atmosphere. There is a tree in the center of the dance floor which makes the floor even more crowded.

I haven’t been here for a while but I do have some fond memories of Monteros. The cover charge was a bit steep but the live music on Fridays and Saturday made up for it. The overall atmosphere was pleasant despite it’s “sauna” temperatures in the dance room. Don’t know what their cover is now on DJ Saturdays but I’m not paying $15 if it still applies.

How can they the ladies $5 while they charrge the guys $10? Ridiculous! We spend $ on drinks, you can not be acting like this owner! Wake up before you screw your own club by unfair treatment.

The salsa dance floor is literally the size of a walk-in closet. The reggaeton floor is huge. And to get to the reggaeton floor, people have to walk THRU the small salsa closet.
This is NOT a place for salsa!!
They shouldn’t label it as such.

The place seems to be out of business – my wife and I tried to go last night (Dec 8, 2013) and it was closed completely. Bummer.

In fairness to Monteros the cover charge on Saturdays is $5.00 for ladies and $10.00 for the guys.
