The best place in San Fransisco! I love this place, cleaner and nicer than any other place. Free parking and great live bands like Avance! Soooo good, wood floor, full bar and restaurant. Dance, eat and drink!

This place is an awesome place plenty of dancing room, the bartender is great! People friendly hosts great view of the city.what gets me is when there is no place to go for salsa dancing people complain and when there is a place to go like the “vacilon”
Salsa club people don’t show…! People you have to show up and support the cause. There is not to many places to go and if there is they are far! What gets me is I pay a toll every time to go and some people that live in San Francisco that don’t even have to pay a toll they rather go to a hole in a wall where they have to spend time looking for parking and see the same band every other week guess what people not at the vacilon…! Come on people we have to support and keep this place going….!

I went here last spring for Sunday afternoon salsa with friends and it was fun except for it was practically dead. I guess that was because it was not yet well known to the salsa community. It is an ideal place to go and enjoy scenery of the bay, good food, dancing, and is a very spacious and big building. The bar and lounge is big too and is right next to the room with the band stage and dance floor. There is more room for dancing and moving around as well. I hope the next time I come here that there will be lots more people.

This is a really nice venue to hear live salsa music. We went for the opening night. Unfortunately, there was a small turnout of dancers, but the dance floor is wood and it’s a nice place to hang out…hopefully, it will grow!

This place is real nice !!!

If you are looking for a different place and tired of the same old salsa Sunday scene this is it the place! Lots of room for dancing and just kicking back and relaxing… Take a time and enjoy the scenic view of the City as you first come into the main street or on your way home pull over and enjoy the night lights of the City… The sound system in this place is off the hook! Also if you enjoyed the food at Jelly’s on Sundays, well guess what… it’s the same guy that gave us that awesome chicken and BBQ ribs… Good headliners for bands and we just really had a great time… Check it out!

Where adults can go and dance to the best bands that the Bay Area has to offer. Wood floor is great, atmosphere is very relaxing, even the women’s bathroom is elegant with a large mirror and a place to sit, also. Glamourous and upscale decor, but, still warm and cozy. Not your run of the mill venue. Full bar, lots of place for people who are not dancers to sit and chit chat. As said before ribs and chicken from the cook from Jelly’s but also other option of the Oasis full menu available for your dining pleasure brought to your table.

This is a pretty cool place for Salsa Dancing on Sundays. Very open space in the main dance room. It doesn’t feel confined like other places. They have Live bands, good food, nice wood floor to dance, huge, classy bar area. This place is very clean. Lots of people last night, it was AWESOME.

What a great venue for a Sunday evening of salsa dancing! Spacious room with plenty of seating and a great wooden dance floor. Nice big bar area for cocktails and plenty of food options available. And let’s not forget the free parking! As an added bonus, a picture perfect view of the SF skyline. Doesn’t get much better than this. The one thing missing? THE CROWDS!

I help the promoter advertise this venue on FB and personally so you know where my heart lies. Every person who has come out to the El Vacilon has enjoyed it. I personally, travel 1.5-2.0 hr one way to support and party here on Sundays. Everything mentioned previously, is on the $. I suppose for me the most important feeling is a sense of family, a large house party, it’s family. Where else can you go, have multiple birthday celebrations. People dancing the electric slide and celebrating like one big family. The vibe in this is place is awesome! I love it!

I REALLY enjoy El Vacilón; the music (and sound) are fantastic, the venue is nice, there is plenty of free parking, the dance floor is large, the bartender is great, the price is reasonable, the bathrooms are clean… and what makes it even nicer is that it is a family atmosphere, and the promoters, Oli and Gil are the sweetest people. It’s one of my favorite venues, and I really hope that it becomes more and more popular, and that it keeps going.

The only half-star penality is that it can be difficult to get leaders to dance with follwers that they don’t know, or aren’t trying to get close to (but I think that’s some strange bay area thing – the guys are strange).
When I go out to dance, I want to have fun and just dance the entire time (with anyone and everyone), but unless I bring dancers with me, I might be dancing by myself. I think as it creates a following, it won’t be so difficult for anyone to stay dancing.
No matter what, they have great bands, a great attitude, a wonderful venue, and this is definately a place to go. Sundays are difficult for me – if they held El Vacilón on Saturday nights, I’d be there more often.
Definiately check it out, and bring some friends. You’ll love it!!

Nice venue and good music, but very small crowds the few times I’ve been there.
