Labor Day Salsa Dancing 2012

Posted September 2, 2012 by

It’s Labor Day, the perfect holiday to take a break from work and do some salsa dancing!

There are a couple different salsa events going on this Labor Day around the Bay Area, and these are the ones we would recommend:

1) Berkeley Summer Block Party

The Berkeley Summer Block Party is an annual salsa event in Berkeley featuring live salsa music from a half-dozen local musicians. The event is completely free (donations encouraged) and is a no-brainer if you want to dance some salsa in the East Bay. The even runs from 2-6pm. More Info.

2) SalsaCrazy Mondays

SalsaCrazy Mondays is a weekly social that takes place in the Rockit Room (21 and older) in San Francisco. The event features salsa lessons and 2 floors of dancing. The event is one of the most popular salsa socials in SF, and Labor Day brings out a big crowd. More Info.

3) Azucar Latin Bistro

If you live in the South Bay, then Azucar Latin Bistro is your best bet for getting your Labor Day salsa fix. Located in downtown San Jose, Azucar has salsa lessons at 8pm, and dancing until the wee hours of the morning. Azucar is also known for their great mojitos. More Info.

Those are the places we recommend for salsa dancing this Labor Day, post in the comments if we missed any great salsa spots!
