Our Review:
The event is all-ages, so it also draws a college crowd from San Jose State, and there is also a full bar for the 21+ crowd. Great spot to go dancing on a Tuesday night.

Flames is becoming the spot to dance weeknights in the SoBay. While the space is nothing fancy, the space is large, open and vrry conducive to dancing. There is free parking in the garage next door or street parking with a bit of searching. BofA ATM across the street if you left the house without cash. $10 cover, $4 draft beers. The crowd is growing each week with friendly people who are there to dance. Plenty of tables to sit at altho I would rearrange them to create a more convivial flow. DJ music of ‘regular’ salsa with just enough Bachata, Chacha and Merengue thrown in to break things up. Overall well worth checking out. Well worth suggesting to others sd well. I recommend Flames if you’re in the mood on a Tuesday night. Light rail close by too.
The place is ok for social dancing but the lessons could be a lot better with better instructors.
I have been attending Mambo Flames for almost a year now. The floor is great for dancers. It is spacious and kept in good shape. There is some colored lighting to set the mood. Plenty of tables and chairs for you to use. Good mix of salsa, bachata, cha cha cha, and mambo. There are beginner salsa lessons before social dancing and happy hour from 9 to 12 a.m. overall this is a really great social with a little bit of everything for everyone.
Best salsa dancing in the south bay. Hope they reopen soon.
