Salsa With Carolyn
Overview:
Salsa lessons with World Salsa Champion Carolyn Barreno at Metronome Dance in San Francisco. Beginner lesson on Sunday begins at 3pm (30 minutes), followed by an Open Level technique/shines class at 3:30pm (30 minutes) and an Intermediate partnering lesson at 4pm (60 minutes). Open lesson is recommended for dancers of all levels. Intermediate lesson is recommended for dancers with 6+ months of salsa experience.
Lessons are provided on a “Day Pass” payment format: pay for only 1 class per Sunday, dance as many as you can. Drop-ins welcome. No partner needed. Discounts available when purchasing a package.

I had private and group classes with Carolyn for the last 3 months. My level went from 0 to intermediate. Such an excellent teacher!
My favorite
I took Carolyn’s salsa and ballroom lessons for 2 years. They are just great. The way how Carolyn explains a structure of a dance is highly analytical and she always goes into fundamentals if you are willing to follow her. She always encourage you to improve a foundation you have, connection you establish with a partner and other principle things rather than to learn and forget in a week some fancy pattern. That doesn’t mean, that you don’t find fancy patterns at her lessons though, you do. But she is a true teacher and know where is a right emphasis should be. She answers a question behind a question, always generously gives you more than you asked and brings the best from her experience to you. Carolyn is highly oriented towards your personal abilities and current progress and stays with you at your personal level patiently building a foundation for you to step forward. And it’s never boring! She shares a lot of her natural fun and charm with students and cares about an individual of any level in a group.
Fantastic teacher. Carolyn makes the classes really fun. She teaches the patterns that are very social dance-able. Highly recommend.
