Overview:
A monthly Mambo/Salsa social for dancers by dancers on every 2nd Sunday of the month, from 6pm – 9:30pm at the Symbolic Dance & Fitness studio is San Francisco. Dance lessons from 6pm-7pm by SF Mambo instructors, music by DJ Willie Martinez & Guest DJ Hong Kwon.

This is definitely one of the best socials I’ve been to in SF. Everyone is relaxed and happy (maybe it is all the daylight) and so excited to be dancing. It is primarily on-2, but most leads will ask you your preference. The dance level is VERY high (not many beginners), but simultaneously incredibly friendly and supportive. Everyone should check it out!

A nice Sunday afternoon social. I second what Marie said above: relaxed atmosphere, very friendly organizers, nice dance studio, good dancing level for the Bay Area (depending on your perspective), good music. Nothing fancy, but this first event was without a doubt a success. Definitely on2 oriented but I spotted people dancing on1 as well. It felt like a nice neighborhood/feel-at-home party. Being new to the Bay and having toured many on1/on2 parties, I can say that this one is easily one of the friendliest.
I will show up next month for sure!

This is easily the best salsa party in San Francisco. It is a beautiful and easily accessible space (near BART and a horde of bus stops). It is cheaper than most of the socials (and not for profit; all the money goes into organizing the socials, DJs, guests, etc). The music is phenomenal and exciting (even though there’s no bachata); a fun mix of salsa and cha cha. The regular crowd is definitely the best thing about SF Mambo. The dancers are incredibly friendly and passionate, and though the level of dancing is really high, there’s real camaraderie and a lack of judgement.
Definitely bring an extra shirt.

Always a fun crowd at these mambo socials! The floors are always great, the cover is reasonable, the music selection is very good as long as you understand that this is a mambo event the dancers are always a good mix of intermediates and advanced. The best part for me is that most of the dancers at these mambo events are nice and usually will dance with everybody (Mambo is generally danced on2 but most of the dancers will dance on1 if you that is your preference)! I wish we had more of those events in SFO!

Awesome bunch of dancers, every level as the night progresses. Ava and Rudolfo are excellent hosts. Mostly On2 dancers getting their monthly fix. DO try to dance with followers one level or more below you, leaders, so the followers can get their reason to be here, great dances. IF U WANT THE necessary experience to get better by dancing with good followers, tell the follower that you are probably not as good as them but want the experience for practice purposes with a follower at her/his level.

Super legit social. If you want to be super hood with mambo then attend this social. All the main mangs go to this social. #SFmambo4lyfe
