With the recent closures of The Grand (formerly Glaskat) and Cafe Cocomo as well as the cancellation of 2012’s Alum Rock festival we’ve lost some big names and landmarks in recent months. However it’s important to consider that the scene itself has actually been growing. Every week we’re being contacted by promoters and dancers about new and exciting events here in the Bay. While we’re continuing to do our very best to give you comprehensive coverage on everything salsa, we can’t be everywhere at once. As the landscape continues to change, we encourage you to participate by adding your voice to the discussion.
