Beginner and Intermediate Salsa Lessons by Casa Cubana

Beginner and Intermediate Salsa Lessons by Casa Cubana are held every Thursday evening at the Italian Club in North Hobart.

The intermediate class begins at 7:00 PM and helps experienced beginners develop their basic turns and steps into more complex combinations. The class also explores musicality, salsa suelta footwork and other Cuban dance styles to strengthen improvisation and overall technique.

The beginner class begins at 8:00 PM and introduces Cuban Casino through basic steps, partner work, body movement, turns and spins. It welcomes people with little or no dance experience, and no partner is required because participants rotate during class.

Both classes are drop-in, with no advance booking required, and card and cash payments are accepted. A single class costs $15, or $10 for students and concession card holders, while admission to both classes is $20 or $15 with concession.

Casa Cubana uses a teaching system developed over 20 years to help students build confidence, understand the social connection between dance partners and develop an appreciation for Cuban culture.
