Salsa and Bachata Classes at Dance on Newy

Dance on Newy offers weekly salsa and bachata classes at Mayfield Senior Citizens Centre in Mayfield, Newcastle, with beginner, intermediate, and open-level options.

Tuesday evenings focus on Cuban Salsa, with beginners at 6:30 PM and intermediate dancers at 7:30 PM. Wednesday evenings feature open-level Dominican Bachata at 6:30 PM, followed by open-level LA-style Salsa On1 at 7:30 PM.

Classes are taught by Luisa, Daniel, Chris, Laura, Raju, and Ellie, with instruction covering musicality, timing, body movement, and partner connection. Each class lasts one hour, with the evening finishing at 8:30 PM.

No partner is required, and partner rotation is optional, allowing couples to stay together during classes. Newcomers interested in intermediate classes should attend a beginner session first and then discuss their appropriate level with the instructors.

Casual classes cost AU$30 each. Additional options include AU$100 for one dance style over five consecutive weeks, or AU$120 for a five-class pass valid for three months. Unlimited classes are available for AU$35 per week by direct debit.

New students can attend a free trial class during the first week of a term.

Classes take place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays through December 16, 2026, with the next term running from November 17 to December 16.
