Festival del Caribe – Fiesta del Fuego
Salsa Social
About this event
The Festival del Caribe, also known as Fiesta del Fuego, is one of Cuba’s most important international cultural festivals, held annually in Santiago de Cuba.
The festival celebrates Caribbean identity and heritage through music, dance, folklore, theater, visual arts, and popular traditions from across the region. Each edition highlights a guest country or culture, showcased through concerts, performances, academic events, parades, and ceremonial activities.
Live music and social dancing play a central role, with street celebrations and cultural exchanges filling plazas and public spaces throughout the city. One of the most symbolic moments of the festival is the traditional Burning of the Devil ceremony, which marks the official closing of the celebrations.
Festival del Caribe takes place every year in early July, with exact dates varying annually, and visitors are encouraged to consult official announcements for the current program.
