High Desert Latin Dance Bachata Classes at Studio Nia

About this event

High Desert Latin Dance offers weekly bachata classes with Stephen & Joanie at Studio Nia in Santa Fe, with options for both newer and more experienced dancers.

Modern Bachata welcomes all levels, including complete beginners, and focuses on smooth turns, rhythmic footwork, musical interpretation, and developing personal style.

Bachata Sensual is designed for dancers with at least a few months of bachata experience or substantial technical training in another dance style. Classes emphasize fluid body movement, partner connection, and controlled isolations. Students taking Bachata Sensual are encouraged to attend both classes.

The current four-week session runs every Tuesday from October 6-27, 2026. Modern Bachata takes place from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by Bachata Sensual from 8:15 PM to 9:15 PM.

Drop-in admission is $20 for one class or $30 for both. Four-week packages are $60 for one class or $95 for both classes, and must be used within the session dates.

Only dedicated indoor dance shoes or socks are permitted in the studio. Street shoes are not allowed.

Classes take place at Studio Nia in Santa Fe. When approaching on San Mateo from St. Francis Drive, the studio is on the right before the train tracks.
