Congreso Mundial de la Salsa 2026 celebrates 30 years of one of Puerto Rico’s signature salsa events with an expanded month-long cultural tourism program called Destino Salsa. Running from July 1 through August 1, 2026, the celebration highlights Puerto Rico as a world-class destination for salsa music, dance, nightlife, folklore, and Latin culture.

The 2026 edition is organized around the theme “30 Años, 30 Noches, 30 Historias,” with events taking place across San Juan and several surrounding municipalities, including Carolina, Toa Baja, Cataño, Bayamón, Loíza, Ponce, Arecibo, and Hatillo. The program includes the opening of the Galería Mundial de la Salsa at Plaza Las Américas, recurring salsa nights, folklore gatherings, patron saint festivals, live music events, and community celebrations throughout July.

Weekly highlights include Salsa Pride at Azure Lounge in the San Juan Marriott, salsa nights at El Boricua in Río Piedras, Shingalin at La Factoría in Old San Juan, Big Band Mondays at Restaurante Metropol in Hato Rey, Salsa Tuesday at Eco’s Sports Park, Música Museo & Tapas on Calle Loíza, and weekend events at The Lobby at Fairmont El San Juan and Azure Lounge. Additional festivities include Salsa & Arte at Casa Escuté in Carolina, La Salsa del Caribe in Ponce, and municipal festival celebrations in Toa Baja, Cataño, and Loíza.

The main Congreso Mundial de Salsa anniversary events take place July 30, July 31, and August 1, 2026, at the Fairmont El San Juan Hotel & Casino in Isla Verde. These closing dates serve as the centerpiece of the celebration, bringing together dancers, performers, musicians, and salsa fans for a major international salsa dance experience in Puerto Rico.
