About this event
Celebrando 2026 Salsa & Heritage Festival brings the Puerto Rican Cultural Center – Austin’s 15th annual salsa and heritage celebration to JCC Austin Community Hall & Performance Center in Austin on Sunday, June 7, 2026. The festival centers on the Puerto Rico – India Cultural Exchange, with an evening of salsa, folklore, and living cultural traditions.
Live salsa dancing features Salsa Gorda with the 10-piece Orquesta Sabore. Southern bomba and plena come from Puerto Rican master artists Nelie Lebron Robles, Emanuel Dufrasne-Gonzalez, and Paracumbe, alongside the Puerto Rican Folkloric Dance performing company.
Austin Dance India and Anu Naimpally bring Bharata Natyam to the cultural exchange. Puerto Rican Cultural Center students and Coqui dancers add jibaro, salon, bomba, and plena music and dance.
Local and regional artisans are planned, with traditional comida criolla by Borinken Roots throughout the evening. Adult tickets are $25 in advance or $30 on the day of the festival, children ages 3-12 are $5, and children 2 and under are free.
