Biography
DJ Willi is a U.S. Navy Veteran, DJ, Dance Instructor, Artist, Event Designer, Graphic Designer, Soccer Player, Tri-Athlete. He has taught dancing for the past 10 years, but has focused on Salsa and Bachata for the past 6 years. DJ Willi has DJ’d since high school and carried it over into the military life, and later made it a own business in the civilian world. He has DJ’d all over the US, including San Diego, LA, Las Vegas, San Jose, Salsa No Ka Oi Hawaii, Pacific Grove Good Ol Days Fest, Monterey Tequila and Mezcal Expo, Monterey, Salinas, Santa Cruz, Watsonville and many more. DJ Willi has danced on Stage with Fruko Y Sus Tesos and Buena Vista Social Club. His music library has something for everyone. Other services that he offers are weddings, birthdays, celebrations, corporate events, and private dance lessons.
Wilfredo is a consummate lover and teacher extraordinaire of Dance and Music. His integrity and professionalism in the arena of teaching are superb and I strongly recommend enjoying and discovering his world of Salsa and Bachata dance. DJ Willi is an excellent teacher, an amazing dancer, and a very genuine person. He’s devoted so much of his time and energy towards both practicing and teaching Salsa, bachata and other latin dances. His passion for the music and commitment to the community comes across in everything he does, from hosting free, weekly dance classes to working with local restaurants to bring in business and create more oppportunities for dance. I would highly recommend him as a teacher, and know he’s always welcoming newcomers into the community that he created and built, largely by himself.
So far I’ve attended a Weds Monterey and a Friday Monterey Pines events. Both are superb examples of how to promote/gather/teach and enjoy Latin music on the Peninsula! Classes are filled to the max-so, there’s room to find your very own spot on the floor and learn-practise or have fun. One of my many dance issue is -turning. Willie and his assistant gave me as much personal attention as possible. This made me feel real good. However, it also shows his concern for the people who are learning. The Bachata is such a lovely rythmic and easy dance. My wisfe and I have busy weeknights, which makes participating in the Weds Salinas parties kinda difficult. Awesome, is a word that comes to mind when describing Willie! His ebullience is displayed through his love of music, dance and teaching. He’s engaging and warm and enjoys what he does and that shows in his personality. He’s an all-around nice guy! Thanks Willie!

Willi’s classes are just about the only beginner friendly salsa and bachata classes in the county. Very talented dancer and instructor.

Thanks DJ Willi for helping me evolve from a newbie stumbling all over the basic to a slightly more advanced salsera who can usually keep up with the social dancers :) I can’t wait to learn more combos and styling.
Willi is an outstanding teacher and especially helpful with beginners. He makes learning fun and always has new moves to teach. I love his music selection too!
Amazing instructor
Willi is such a good teacher. Very patient and easy to follow along when you are a two left feet beginner! Your going to have such a good time learning how to boogie, make sure to bring a dance partner or two!
DJ Willi is an excellent Salsa and Bachata instructor. I attended an event at Hartnell College to celebrare El Salvadorean Day on campus. I also attended high school with DJ Willi. He is a man of high integrity and professionalism.
I manage the Monterey Moose Lodge. We have used DJ Willi many times. He knows how to gauge a crowd and move them to their feet! And on top of that….THE MAN CAN DANCE. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him in a heart beat for your next event.

Willi is the BEST dance instructor/entertainer in the area. He is a well balanced professional, friendly, fun, passionate about what he does, hard working, and of course…. a great dancer. I started attending salsa and bachata lessons almost a year ago when he was at Bay of Pines. He made the lessons fun and easy to learn. I looked forward to his classes every week. I personally feel fortunate to have met him and I know that he will continue to be successful in all he does.

Teaching a theater dancer to partner dance is no easy feat, but Willi is such a professional and his classes are so much fun, that you can’t help but learn. I highly recommend taking his classes, you’ll be tearing up the dance floor in no time.
I attended salsa/bachata classes for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I loved it! It is a very fun and friendly environment. Will made me feel welcomed. He is very knowledgeable and patient in teaching. He made it very fun and he also takes the time to teach you individually if you are having trouble with steps.
I will definitely be coming back soon!
Willi is a pretty awesome person and extremely thorough with his teaching. His classes are a warm welcoming environment and I enjoy taking them!!
DJ Willi is one of the best DJ’s around. He not only did my daughters sweet sixteen, he help choreograph her dance. Everyone had such a great time it is still talked about to this day… she is now 18. I am currently in the rents industry and we are always in need of DJ’s, Willi is always our first go to and has not disappointed a client yet. Super reasonable with prices and amazing at his job.
Oh … he will also be the DJ at my upcoming wedding in June :)
