Edwin Banegas is an avid dancer, performer and a well sought after instructor, mostly recognized in the salsa community by his lucid, charismatic, and elegant style in the many forms of Latin dance both on and off the dance floor, making him one of the most dynamic and independent dance instructors in the San Francisco Bay Area.
He explains that he owes his versatility, his unique understanding and representation of the art to the broad and the different disciplines of Latin dance that he grew up listing, training and dancing to such as Cuban salsa, Cuban son, pachanga, cumbia, merengue, bachata, mambo, salsa and cha-cha-cha.
He is the founder and the artistic director of the Clave Cache Dance Project (currently inactive). He’s taught and performed in multiple festivals, the US Open, and world renowned salsa congresses. He’s been teaching in the Bay Area since 2005 and he is currently based in the South Bay.
