Biography
Luis Aguilar is a two time World Champion salsa dancer and has placed 1st in numerous other competitions including the San Francisco International Salsa Congress and the New York Salsa Congress. Together with partner Anya Katsevman he is a sought-after international performer and instructor who has graced countless stages around the world.
Luis is the founder and director of San Francisco based dance company Couture Dance Alliance, which under his leadership has twice won the US Open Professional Teams division. Known for his stage presence, technical dancing, and innovative choreography, Luis continues to push the art of salsa in new directions.

I can’t say enough about how much I admire Luis’ technique and quality of dance. He breaks every step down and not only teaches new moves but shows you how to execute the moves you already know with elegance, style and precision. I would emphatically recommend Luis’ training and technique to every dancer no matter which level. He has trained with the best in the world and we are so Blessed to have Luis imparting his extraordinary dance knowledge in SF. Luis was a tremendous inspiration for me when I started taking salsa more seriously and one of the reasons I moved to San Francisco to study in his dance company. Luis is an amazing coach and teacher! I highly recommend his classes. Luis has an incredible ability to break things down and really focuses on each individual in the class.
Luis is a great teacher! You will no doubt get a lot out his classes. I feel that Luis has a great understanding of what novice dancers go through, and can really cater the class to the relative skill of the dancers. He has an amazing ability to really break down technique and body movement, and associate it to the music. I was pretty amazed how much one class can make a difference in understanding the foundations of the dance.
