Biography
Valerie Demattei has been dancing Salsa and Bachata since 2007. She began teaching Salsa in 2010 at Equinox Gym with Antonio Miguel in San Mateo. Shortly after, she joined Pretty Boys and Girls Dance Productions, under the direction of Ricardo Sanchez. Meanwhile, she taught Bachata at Café Cocomos in San Francisco with Orlando Valle. Valerie competed and performed with partner, Derek Marrero from 2011 to 2012. Together, they won several first place championships in both Salsa and Bachata.
Valerie currently dances for Couture Dance Alliance, under the direction of Luis Aguilar and teaches weekly Bachata lessons at Symbolic Dance & Fitness, as well as other workshops and group lessons around the Bay Area
