Havana Jam turns Tuesday nights at Mustang Bar into a full Latin dance evening, with free entry points for newcomers and deeper classes for dancers who want more structure. It is one of the easier ways to sample Perth’s salsa scene because the night includes lessons, live percussion, DJs, and social dancing in one place.

The evening starts with bachata levels and a free introductory salsa/merengue option before moving into Cuban salsa classes, after-class ruedas, and party time. Simon Fryda and the Danza Loca Crew lead the class program, DJ Mateo handles the music, and the mix includes salsa, merengue, bachata, kizomba, reggaeton, and Latin soul.

Havana Jam happens every Tuesday at The Mustang Bar in Northbridge, with class activity beginning around 6:30 PM. The introductory lesson and social entry are free, paid structured classes are available separately, and dancers have nearby options including Roe Street Car Park, street parking, Roe Street Bus Station, and Perth Underground.
