Fausto Felix is a New York City dancer and instructor specializing in salsa and bachata. Born in the Bronx to Dominican parents, he developed his dance practice through Dominican folklore and merengue, alongside salsa and hip-hop. He founded Fuerza Dance Studio and directs La Fuerza Dance Company.
Felix developed NY Style Bachata by combining traditional bachata with hip-hop and street-style merengue. He teaches and performs this approach internationally. His broader teaching repertoire also includes Dominican folkloric movement and acrobatics, reflecting the range of forms he has studied throughout his career.
His company work includes La Fuerza Kingsmen, an all-men dance crew. He also helped establish The NY Movement, a competitive company bringing together dancers from New York’s Latin dance community, and has worked with the group as a performer and manager. Through Fuerza Dance Studio, he supports dance education for adults and younger students, alongside choreography and training for performance teams. His screen credits include a speaking role in the 2021 film In the Heights.
