Salsa and Bachata Classes at Mambo Productions

Mambo Productions offers weekly salsa and bachata classes at Olympia Dancesport in Calgary, with instruction for teens and adults ranging from beginner fundamentals to intermediate partnerwork and technique. No partner is required.

Monday evenings feature Bachata Level 1.5 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by Bachata Level 2 and Salsa On1 Level 1 from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Tuesday’s Salsa Technique in Partnerwork class runs from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM and is designed for experienced beginners and above.

Wednesday evenings begin with Bachata Level 1 at 7:00 PM, followed by Salsa On2 Level 1 and Salsa Body Movement & Technique at 8:00 PM. The body movement class requires basic salsa knowledge. Thursday evenings focus on Salsa On2, with Level 1.5 at 7:00 PM and Level 2 at 8:00 PM.

Beginner bachata classes cover Modern and Traditional Bachata fundamentals, leading and following, and foundational Sensual movements. Higher levels introduce intermediate concepts and combine them into social dancing patterns. Salsa On1 classes cover basic steps, turns, cross-body leads, and partnerwork, while Salsa On2 courses progress from foundational skills to intermediate techniques.

A single-class drop-in costs C$30, subject to availability. Four-week courses with one class per week cost C$99 per person or C$171 per couple. A two-course bundle within the same monthly series costs C$158.40.

Advance registration is encouraged to help balance leads and follows, and prospective drop-in students should contact the organizer beforehand. Dancers unsure of their level can ask for guidance or observe a class free of charge.

Comfortable clothing and dance shoes with leather or suede soles are recommended, as rubber soles are not ideal for dancing.
