Intro to Salsa Caleña Workshop

Miguel Zagal leads this Intro to Salsa Caleña Workshop at Danzhaus Dance Center in San Francisco on June 14, 2026, from 2:00–4:00 PM. This beginner-friendly workshop introduces dancers to the quick-footed, high-energy Colombian salsa style made famous in Cali.

The class is designed to be welcoming for first-timers while still offering plenty for dancers of all levels. No partner or prior salsa experience is required. The two-hour workshop includes one hour of footwork and technique, followed by one hour of partnerwork focused on leading and following fundamentals. Check-in begins 20 minutes before class.

Pricing is $30 prepaid or $35 at the door. Spots can be reserved by payment through Venmo or Zelle.

Hosted by Miguel Zagal at Danzhaus, this workshop is a great opportunity to build solid fundamentals while getting a feel for the speed, rhythm, and flavor of Cali-style salsa.
