De’Jon Polanski is an international Afro-Latin dance instructor and U.S. Air Force veteran from New Orleans, Louisiana. He is the founder and director of Tropik Vybe Dance Company, a Dallas-based school focused on world-class training in Salsa On2 and Afro-Latin social dance.
De’Jon’s roots trace back to age eight with New Orleans Bounce and Second Line traditions, plus street-style bachata and salsa. At 16 he took his first formal salsa class and soon began intensive training in Cuban genres with Aurelio Gonzales & Ana Grietal—from son and Cuban folklore to rueda de casino. He later broadened his repertoire with private lessons, master bootcamps and coursework with leading figures including Raymond Armant, Eddie Torres, Tomás Guerrero, Jorjet Alcocer, Troy Anthony, Sergio Jasso, Korke & Judith, and Carlos Cinta, and completed the high-intensity Cuerpos Creativos mambo certification in Mexico.
On stage, De’Jon has danced live with Dominican bachata icons Kiko Rodríguez, Raulin Rodríguez, Frank Reyes, and Joan Soriano, and he has taught at the Dominican Republic’s prestigious immersion program Bachata Paradise.
In 2018 he teamed up with Clo Ferreira, forming one of the scene’s most versatile couples. Together they continue advanced training with Marisol Blanco (Afro-Cuban) and José Serrano (principal ballet dancer, cabaret coach), while touring internationally to teach, perform, and champion social-dance connection, musicality and improvisation.
Tropik Vybe was founded in New Orleans in 2016 and relocated to the Dallas area in 2022, where it now runs progressive programs, socials and an extensive online-training platform.
