Jennifer Stein is a world-class salsa dancer, instructor, and choreographer based in San Diego, California, best known as the co-founder and co-director of Majesty in Motion Dance Company. Celebrated for her high-energy performances, jazzy flair, and razor-sharp musicality, Jennifer has spent more than two decades shaping San Diego’s largest and most influential Latin dance hub while inspiring dancers around the globe.
Jennifer’s journey began in 2002 when a chance visit to Café Sevilla introduced her to professional salsa dancer David Stein and the vibrant world of social dancing. Trading a corporate career for the dance floor, she trained intensively, eventually partnering with David to build Majesty in Motion from a single performance team into a powerhouse of eight teams—five partner teams and three ladies teams. Today, Majesty in Motion offers classes seven days a week in Salsa On1, Salsa On2, bachata, and ladies styling, cultivating dancers of all levels through a welcoming, community-focused approach.
Together with the MIM teams, Jennifer has traveled widely, teaching and performing across the United States and in Bermuda, Japan, Canada, England, and Sweden. Her commitment to excellence has been recognized by legendary promoter Albert Torres, and her dynamic workshops are a fixture at congresses from New York to Tokyo. In 2017, Jennifer and David opened their own two-room studio on El Cajon Boulevard, creating a vibrant space that hosts weekly socials at Café Sevilla and Tango Del Rey, plus special events that keep San Diego’s Latin dance scene thriving.
Beyond the stage, Jennifer’s greatest passion lies in mentorship. Her classes emphasize creative movement, teamwork, and leadership, empowering students to find their unique voice in dance. An upbeat teaching style, coupled with genuine care for each dancer’s progress, has earned her a devoted following and a reputation for turning social dancers into confident performers.
A dedicated mother of two, Jennifer continues to balance family life with artistic ambition. Her long-term vision includes expanding Majesty in Motion into a larger venue, broadening class offerings, and bringing even more Latin dance genres to the San Diego community. Whether she is drilling complex footwork, directing a new choreography, or cheering on beginners at their first social, Jennifer Stein remains a driving force in the salsa world—sharing her passion, artistry, and infectious energy with dancers everywhere.
