Born in Mexico into a family of artists, Karel began her journey in the arts as a child, acting in telenovelas and participating in school dance teams. Her passion for dance led her to train with the prestigious Yamuleé Dance Company in New York City, where she became their principal female dancer. After eight years with Yamuleé, Karel launched her solo career, performing and teaching in over 60 countries across six continents.
Since then, Karel Flores has judged major international salsa competitions and been featured by Lincoln Center, The New York Times, and Cosmopolitan magazine. Today, Karel continues to inspire dancers globally with her unique artistry and commitment to empowering others through dance.
