Biography

Milton Cobo is a North Carolina–based salsa dancer, instructor, and co-founder of CoboBrothers Dance Co. (along with his brother, James Cobo), a school established in the early 2000s that has trained social dancers and performers across the Raleigh–Durham–Chapel Hill area and beyond. With CBDC, Milton helped shape one of the Triangle’s longest-running on2 programs, noted for structured training cycles, team choreography, and regular socials.

Over the years, Milton has taught and performed internationally with Cobo Brothers ensembles and partners including Isabel Freiberger, Erin Leger, and Nayara, with appearances at major events such as the Japan Salsa Congress, the DC Salsa Congress, and other congress stages. His choreography credits with the company include pieces like “Conguero,” and he’s recognized in social-dance circles for smooth timing and lead technique rooted in New York–style mambo.

Today, CoboBrothers Dance Co. continues to operate in Raleigh, offering semester-based salsa and bachata programs, specialty projects, and community events.
