Cheryl Burke's is one of the nicer dance studios in the Bay Area, and they offer a lot of great dance classes here besides salsa. However, this is mostly a ballroom studio so the style of salsa they teach you is very "ballroomy", which can be a good or bad thing, depending on what you're looking for.

Their socials (like many ballroom studios) are a mix of all of the different ballroom dances, although they usually have a separate room on the side for just the Latin dances (salsa & cha cha). Cheryl Burke's is a good place for beginners.

Lovely studio, very clean and spacious. Has a large coat rack and shoe shelf in the men’s and women’s restrooms. Lessons are awesome, they have several helpers with badges to assist the two instructors at each lesson so lots of help is available. First timers receive a free private lesson with an instructor. Ballroom and Salsa room are separate. Fridays have more beginners and in general most dancers Friday nights are in the 40-55 yr age range.
Ballroom music is mostly contemporary. A wide variety of different types of ballroom dances are played and announced on a large screen. Atmosphere is very polished and professional.

This is a very clean dance club. High quality teachers and dancers. I wish they have live band Salsa & Bachata parites like Allegro. Then there is no need to drive out of town.
