Mambonova Salsa & Bachata Social
Overview:
A monthly salsa social hosted by Mambonova Dance Company at Dance Boulevard in San Jose. Beginner salsa lessons by Hector Reyes at 8:00pm followed by dancing until 2:00am in the morning. Two rooms for dancing: a Salsa/Cha Cha Room and a Bachata/Kizomba Room. Special dance performances by local dance teams.
Saturday, April 26, 2011: Live salsa music by Salsón and live bachata sax performance by Antonio Bliss from LA.

Our Review:
The social is held at once a month Dance Boulevard in San Jose, a spacious studio with a great floor and plenty of parking. The event is also all-ages since it's at a dance studio and not a night club.
What's nice about the social is that it has 2 rooms for dancing: salsa in the main room, and a second room for bachata & kizomba. As someone who mainly dances salsa, I enjoy being able to dance as much salsa as I want, with the occasional break to cool off in the bachata room.
Hector (the organizer of the event) likes to mix things up too, and there are special performances and live bands throughout the year to keep things interesting. The social is also one of the few places in the South Bay where you can take salsa lessons On2.
Long story short: Great music, great dancers, great venue; this is one social you don't want to miss in San Jose.
