Paso Latino (also known as “Academia de Baile Paso Latino”) is a Bogotá-based salsa academy and dance company founded in the early 2000s. Based in Chapinero, the academy focuses on salsa and other Afro-Latin dances, with a particular emphasis on mambo, cha cha cha, son, guaracha, pachanga, and boogaloo.
Paso Latino is directed by Caterine Estrada and Nicolás Carreño, a longtime teaching and performance partnership that has helped shape the school’s identity in Bogotá. The company is known for combining technical training with stage work, and for maintaining a pathway from regular classes into auditions, performance lines, and more advanced formation programs.
Within Bogotá’s salsa scene, Paso Latino has a reputation as one of the city’s established salsa schools. The academy has produced dancers who have represented the school in district, national, and international competition, such as the Euroson Latino championships.
