About this event

Queer Afro Latin Dance Festival is a vibrant multi-day celebration of dance, music, and art created by and for queer and trans artists and community. Taking place in San Jose from June 5-8, 2026, the festival brings together dancers, creatives, and music lovers for an uplifting weekend rooted in Afro-Latin rhythm, self-expression, and connection.

The event features a wide range of dance workshops, including salsa, bachata, cumbia, waacking, hip-hop, vogue, heels, Afro-Cuban, Afro-beats, reggaeton, Latin jazz, and more. Throughout the weekend, attendees can also enjoy pool parties, a meet and greet, a performance showcase, and nightly theme parties designed to keep the energy going well into the night.

Each evening includes multiple dance spaces with salsa, bachata, and mixed music rooms, creating plenty of variety for social dancers and festivalgoers alike. The atmosphere is welcoming, expressive, and community-centered, with queer, trans, and allied artists and DJs helping shape the experience across the full weekend.

Hosted in San Jose at the DoubleTree Hotel, the festival offers an immersive setting where guests can dance, connect, and celebrate in one place. Queer Afro Latin Dance Festival stands out as a joyful and inclusive gathering that honors Afro-Latin culture while centering queer artistry, visibility, and pride.
