Biography
Afinkao was formed by JC Labio and Tellina Rezzoffi in 2005 and is recognized for its eclectic and creative choreography. The dance company’s style is a fusion of Afro-Cuban, mambo, jazz, and hip-hop, and is often lauded for its musicality and interpretation.
Afinkao is composed of a professional team, Con Afinke (Semi-Pro) and a training team. The company also hosts Latin Fever Fridays at the Beat in Berkeley, a hugely popular monthly social that is also the site of Afinkao’s famous annual footwork competition.
Professional Team
Afinkao's professional level team bears the dance company's namesake, and is composed of the directors as well as a few select top level dancers.
Con Afinke
Con Afinke is Afinkao's semi-professional team and regularly performs at local festivals and venues.
