Based in Huelva, Spain, Charlie Zafra is a salsa dancer, instructor, and choreographer known for crisp footwork, fluid timing, and an infectious on-stage energy. Trained in Sevilla and forged on Europe’s festival circuit, Charlie blends Puerto Rican on2 flavor with Cuban Son and Afro-Rumba elements—equal parts groove and precision.
Since 2012 he’s partnered with Verónica López (“Charlie & Vero”), a duo celebrated for musicality and crowd-pleasing social dance. Together they direct Dancelife Studio (Huelva), teach across Spain and Europe, and appear at major congresses worldwide.
Competitive highlights include runner-up (men’s footwork) in 2014 at an international freestyle/“pasos libres” championship, while Verónica won the women’s title in 2014 and 2015; as a couple they’ve also won national showdance honors in Spain.
Their focus today is performance, teaching, and elevating social dance with accessible, high-impact instruction.
